I have never gotten into playing sports games on video consoles. That is, until Madden NFL 2008. The Madden games have always especially bugged me. In every other Madden game he is always saying the most stupid comments, just like he does in real life. In Madden NFL 2008 he still says something stupid every now and then but for some reason it didn't really bother me.
In the past the learning curve for the controls in sports games have kept me from really enjoying them. I never would spend enough time to learn how to control the players and so I would always get my butt kicked. In Madden NFL 2008 you can just pick plays if you'd like and let the computer's AI execute it for you. The except to this is pass plays. If you choose a pass play you will need to choose which receiver to pass to, but for running plays the players will just execute the running play you chose. This is really nice for beginners, allowing us to play the game and not get creamed on your first try. If you would like to control your players more, Madden NFL 2008 allows that too. I'm sure that when you play enough you can actually control the players much better than the AI does.
All in all Madden NFL 2008 for XBOX 360 is a very fun game to play and is the first sports game I've ever purchased in my life. That about says it all.
